Canal connection not possible

We understand that the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways) is likely to reject the connection between the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and Lapal Canal proposed in Option 2 of the Dec 2012 plan from Harvest. This view reflects the proximity of the new junction to the Bristol Rd Bridge and the adverse angle of the junction. This means that even if the canal link could be afforded under the Dec 2012 plan it could not be implemented. Thus money spent to rebuild the Harborne Lane Bridge will have been wasted. Our proposal would place the junction in a more favorable location.
