Harvest's Plans for the Battery Site have now been released on the Council planning web site. Application number 2013/02178/PA. Despite the fact that one drawing appears to show the Lapal Canal as a watered feature Harvest have confirmed that they intend only to provide a green walkway along the southern border of the site as per the document titled "Building Level 3". This walkway will be bridged by the Sainsbury's store / Service yard at its eastern end. The plan sites the Sainsbury's service yard on the Bristol Rd. It makes very poor use of the Worcester and Birmingham canal frontage and (as far was we can see) has poor provision for disabled and cycle access from the Bristol Rd / rail station.
This is not regeneration!
